Dr. Catherine Doty

Medical Director

Since the beginning of her career, CPM&R Medical Director Dr. Catherine Doty has pursued an innovative and forward-thinking path to providing exceptional patient care. One of only a handful of triple board-certified physicians in the U.S., Dr. Doty’s certifications include Pediatrics, Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation. This unique combination has allowed Dr. Doty to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages, and her goal with CPM&R is to move past the constraints set on doctors by insurance companies and fully use all her skills and knowledge to offer patients help when and how it’s needed.

Dr. Doty earned an undergraduate degree in biology and a medical degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky A. B. Chandler Medical Center, practiced pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, then moved to Little Rock to complete her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. Dr. Doty then returned to St. Louis and joined the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine – first as an assistant professor in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, then as a clinical instructor in Pediatrics through St. Louis Children’s Hospital Division of Newborn Medicine. After stints in private practice and as the Pediatric Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation medical consultant at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Dr. Doty served as the medical director for St. Louis PM&R/Breakthrough Pain Relief Clinics.

Passionate about continuing to grow and develop her medical skills, Dr. Doty has completed post-graduate work and special training in everything from medical acupuncture to ultrasound-guided limb and spine procedures to life care planning. She also is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and is on the Member Councils for pain medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, and pediatric rehabilitation. Additionally, Dr. Doty is a Physician Member of the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science.

A St. Louis native, Dr. Doty is an avid horsewoman, dog lover, and bird watcher. In her spare time, she and her husband Steve enjoy playing with their three sweet but high maintenance dogs, traveling, and rock concerts.
